FRESHMAN YEAR (2012-13) – Competed in one tournament (Florida Challenge) on the year as an individual and finished in 25th place with rounds of 82-75 for a 13-over (157)… Low round of 75 in the second round of the Florida Challenge was the third-lowest score for any Gator competing that day.
IN HIGH SCHOOL – Smyser had a personal-best finish in the 2010 FHSAA State Championship where she finished second with scores of 73 and 71. She also had Top-10 finishes in the same tournament in 2008 and 2009. In 2011, Smyser finished fifth at the AJGA Stonehenge Junior Open, carding a 227 (78, 75, 74) over three rounds. At Gulf Coast High School, Smyser was part of the third place team in the 2010 Florida state championship. Smyser was a three-time Southwest Florida high school “Golfer of the Year,” voted on by coaches and the media in the Naples Daily News. She was also named all-conference during all four years of her high school career.
PERSONAL – Emma is the daughter of John and Amy Smyser and has two siblings, a sister, Kori (25) and a brother, Evan (13). Her father was a UF graduate in the 1980s.
