Transferred to Iowa State after 1999 seasonAS A SOPHOMORE (1999) – Southeastern Conference Championships’ balance beam runner-up, matching collegiate-best mark of 9.90…won the NCAA Region II Championships’ balance beam (9.875)…won the Dodge Senior Night all-around title with a season-best 39.30…also used collegiate-best marks to win the Dodge Senior Night uneven bars (9.925) and balance beam (9.90) titles…turned in season-best floor mark of 9.90 to take third in the SunTrust Invitational…slowed this season by November, 1998 surgery to right ankle, but has returned to all-around duties for UF…only member of the current U.S. Senior National Team in 1999 collegiate competition...member of the Academic All-Southeastern Conference Honor Roll.
SUMMER (1998) – Earned spot on U.S. Senior National team with 18
th place all-around finish at the 1998 John Hancock U.S. Gymnastics Championships…earned a berth in the 1998 U.S. Gymnastics Championships based on her 17
th place finish at the U.S. Classic Gymnastics Festival…by competing at the U.S. Classic Gymnastics Festival, Hamm became a Senior International Elite gymnast – the highest level attainable for a gymnast.
AS A FRESHMAN (1998) – NCAA balance beam tri-champion with a mark of 9.875…shared the title with Georgia’s Jenni Beathard and Kim Arnold…collected a total of four All-America first-team honors at NCAAs – the top total of first-team honors ever for a Gator gymnast in a single year…top freshman performer in NCAA all-around competition with a total of 39.45 …also advanced to the NCAA Individual event finals for the uneven bars (11th/9.30) and floor exercise (t11th/9.85)…third in the NCAA Southeast Region all-around competition with a Florida season-best total of 39.50...also set collegiate-best floor mark of 9.925 to tie for fifth in regional competition....used 9.90 bars and beam marks to tie for fourth and fifth, respectively, at the NCAA Southeast Regionals...runner-up in the SEC all-around competition (39.40)...member of the All-SEC team and shared the SEC Freshman of the Year award...also took third in the SEC floor and beam competitions with marks of 9.90...in her collegiate all-around debut at the Tiger Invitational, won the evening’s title with a total of 39.275 -- the highest total ever by a Gator in their all-around premiere…won a total of four balance beam, two uneven bars, and one floor exercise titles in 1998…joined the Gator team on January 6 after graduating early from Waukesha (Wis.) South High School.
PRIOR TO FLORIDA - Took sixth on balance beam and 14th in all-around at the 1997 USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic Championships....1997 Wisconsin Level 10 all-around, vault, uneven bars and balance beam champion...won beam and bars plus was all-around runner-up in the 1997 Region 4 Level 10 Championships...1996 Region 4 Level 10 all-around champion...fourth in the all-around at the 1996 Wisconsin Level 10 meet...member of the LaFleurs Gymnastics club in Menomonee Falls, Wis., and coached by Greg LaFleur and Tammy Donahue.
