Katelyn Kight joined the Florida Gators athletic performance staff in January 2023, where she works with the soccer and gymnastics programs. She was elevated to Senior Athletic Performance Coach in January 2026, recognizing her impact on athlete development and program success.
With a decade of collegiate experience, Kight has built a reputation for developing high-performing athletes and contributing to championship-level programs. During her time at Florida, Gator gymnasts have earned numerous individual honors, including the Honda Award (2023), SEC Gymnast of the Year (2023), SEC Newcomer of the Year (2025), and SEC Specialist of the Year (2026). Florida athletes also claimed NCAA individual titles on uneven bars in 2024 and 2026. As a team, the Gators captured SEC regular-season titles in 2023 and 2024, along with SEC Championship meet crowns in 2023 and 2026. On the international stage, two Gator gymnasts represented the United States at the 2025 World Championships, earning all-around silver and advancing to event finals.

Prior to Florida, Kight served as an assistant sports performance coach at the University of Central Florida, where she worked primarily with women’s soccer. During her tenure, UCF athletes earned American Athletic Conference Player of the Year honors across multiple positions, including Offensive (2022), Defensive (2019), Goalkeeper (2021, 2022), and Midfielder (2021). The Knights won the 2022 AAC regular-season championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
In addition to soccer, Kight worked with UCF’s softball and track and field programs, both of which swept AAC championships in 2022. Softball captured both regular-season and tournament titles and advanced to the NCAA Super Regional, while track and field secured both indoor and outdoor conference championships.
Kight began her full-time collegiate career at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, where she worked with women’s soccer, softball, track and field, and cross country. She also completed strength and conditioning internships at the University of South Florida and the University of Maryland in 2015.
Prior to focusing on helping the athlete in strength and conditioning, Kight was head coach at Tampa Elite Lacrosse (2015) and Potomac State College lacrosse (2014 & 2015 seasons).
Kight was a member of Frostburg State University’s lacrosse team, graduating in 2013 with a degree in Exercise Science. She also obtained her master’s degree in Exercise Science with a specialization in Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention in 2015 from California University of Pennsylvania.
She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA and a USAW Level 1 Sports Performance Coach. Kight is also CPR/AED certified.
