Two Gators in Top 25 through Round Two of Nike Collegiate

FORT WORTH, Texas – The Florida Gators men's golf team have held strong in the middle of the pack, ending round two of the Nike Collegiate Invitational T8 with Stanford.

Freshmen Eugene Hong and Aden Ye lead the team, with Hong sitting T17 after carding a one-under 69 with an eagle on his last hole of the day. Ye finished with a one-over 71, moving up three spots from round one to T24.

Sophomore John Axelsen fell to T32 after going four-over in the second round. Redshirt freshman Manny Girona came in one stroke behind Axelsen to close out day two, unable to recover from a double bogey in his last nine of the day.

Senior Gordon Neale was able to move up eight spots on the leaderboard, recovering from his 10-over in round one and carding a much-improved one-over 71 in the second round. The Gators will look to improve on the final day of the Nike Collegiate Invitational Tuesday.
