Florida 4-over par heading into second round of the tournament
STATESBORO, Ga. -- Through 18 holes of play at the Schenkel Invitational, the Gators sit 11th on the leaderboard.
Florida, who is the defending champions at the event, had a tough first day in Statesboro as only one player was able to finish in the top 20 of the leaderboard.
Freshman Won Jun Lee, who was inserted into the Florida lineup for the second time this season, recorded the Gators only sub-par round on day one. Lee shot 1-under par and is currently tied for 16th in the event.
Lee pared the first 17 holes today before carding a birdie on the par five 18th for a first round 71.
Andy Zhang and John Axelsen are two shots back in a tie for 35th at 1-over par. Zhang was 2-under through eight holes but, had three bogies in the final 10 holes to put him over par.
Florida is scheduled to tee off of No. 10 tomorrow morning with the first tee set for 8:51 a.m. (ET).

On the Gators play today -- "Obviously a tough day for us from start to finish, but I was happy with the attitude and effort. I'm expecting to see a very motivated and focused team tomorrow. It's probably going be our best round of the year." - Coach JC Deacon
