Gators in Sole Possession of Eighth Place at the Conclusion of Second Round

Florida is 6-over par and in eighth place as the second round finishes in Washington.

CLE ELUM, Wash. – The Florida men's golf team currently sits in sole possession of eighth place in the NCAA Elum Regionals after posting a 6-over par 574 through two days of play.

Ricky Castillo leads the way for the Gators individually, sitting in a tie for 10th heading into the final round. The sophomore recorded three bogeys in today's outing before a birdie on the 14th hole dropped his overall card.

Yuxin Lin mimicked Castillo's card, although in a different order with his birdie coming on the 8th hole. He currently sits in the top-25, tying for 23rd place individually.

Giovanni Manzoni and Joe Pagdin both finished the day with 4-over par overall scores. While Manzoni finished the day 2-over, SEC Freshman of the Year Joe Pagdin battled to maintain an even scorecard through the 18 holes after back-to-back birdies on the 14th and 15th greens righted his scorecard. The duo is tied for 38th individually.

Tyler Wilkes rounded out the Gators lineup with a 3-over par second round, placing him in a tie for 43rd with a 5-over par overall scorecard.

The Gators will tee it up tomorrow at 11:55 a.m. ET in the final round. The top-five teams, as well as the best individual finisher on a non-advancing team will qualify for play in the NCAA Championships, scheduled to be held in Scottsdale, Ariz. from Friday, May 28 to Wednesday, June 2.
