GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida volleyball team announced the addition of opposite/outside hitter Nadi'ya Shelby to the 2026 roster on Wednesday.
"Nadi'ya brings a great mix of physicality and experience for a freshman," said Florida Head Coach Ryan Theis. "She played a major role in her team's 17 Open national championship this summer and getting her here in January will be a big boost to our pin-hitting group."
A native of Friendswood, Texas, Nadi'ya will arrive to Gainesville for the spring 2026 semester, bringing with her USA High Performance experience and a collection of high school and club accolades.
Why Nadi'ya chose the University of Florida
"I chose Florida because it feels like the perfect place to grow as a student-athlete. Being a part of Florida's volleyball team was a dream of mine, but now it's my reality. The program's energy, dedication, and family-like presence were significant pull factors. I knew that being a part of the Gator family would help me become the best that I can be. Beyond the sports aspect, Florida's strong academics and supportive community make it the right fit for my goals and the kind of future I want to build!"
Below are the details of her high school, club and USA high performance accolades.
