
Florida Men’s Tennis Welcomes Roman Sancilio to 2026 Spring Squad

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gators have one recruit joining them for the 2026 spring season. Roman Sancilio from Richmond, Va. joins the team as an incoming freshman for Gators' head coach Adam Steinberg's third signing class.
Sancilio joins as a five-star recruit, ranked as the No. 31 recruit nationally and No. 1 recruit coming out of Virginia with a UTR rating of 12.29. As the No. 30 recruit in the class of 2026, Sancilio attended Laurel Springs School, and was coached by his father Damian Sancilio who competed for the University of Virginia and runs the Sancilio Tennis Academy.
Sancilio also marked a career high ITF Junior ranking of No. 471 this year after an 8-2 record in ITF Junior tournaments this year and a career record of 27-7 in singles. Sancilio has claimed two singles titles in his career, one at the J5 Zapopan tournament in 2022 (Clay Surface) and the other was this year at the J60 Eau Claire tournament (Hard Surface).
For doubles, Sancilio is 3-2 this year and 12-6 in his career and won a single title in 2024 at the J30 Santo Domingo tournament (Hard Surface) with Adrian Treacy (Dartmouth).
Sancilio joins Andreas Timini as the second freshman of the team and looks to make an impact in the spring.
