Nirundorn and Jefferson Advance to Round of 16, Jin Falls in Round One

Tanapatt Nirundorn and Henry Jefferson’s round of 32 win surpasses their previous NCAA run after falling in the first round of the 2024 fall season.
ORLANDO, Fla. – After two days of tennis at the UTSA National Campus, the Gators' doubles pairing of Henry Jefferson and Tanapatt Nirundorn advance to the round of 16, while teammate Jeremy Jin's run in the singles tournament comes to an end.
This doubles win surpasses the team's performance in the 2024 fall outing where, Nirundorn and Jefferson were dispatched in the first round of competition.
Jefferson and Nirundorn's Round of 32 Win
Jefferson and Nirundorn were dominant on the court from start to finish with some big serves and some key breaks in the sets. The duo obtained a victory of 6-3, 6-4 over Sam Landau/Facundo Yunis of Indiana. The Gators brought the energy early, establishing a quick lead in the first set. The second set offered a bit more competition with both sides breaking serves, but ultimately the Gators won out with their tough serving and court strategy.
Jefferson and Nirundorn see the court again on Nov. 20 at 2 p.m. EST against the No. 3 ranked pairing of the tournament Isac Stromberg/Kai Milburn of Ole Miss (ITA No. 89).
Jin's Singles Run
Jin's NCAA singles run was short lived at the NCAA singles tournament, after being defeated by No. 22 Trevor Svajda (SMU) in a three-set thriller. The first set went to Svajda going 6-1 to defeat Jin. Jin fought his way back in the second set for a 6-4 win, but ultimately lost the match after a close 4-6 loss in the third set.
