Paula Francisco tied the program 54-hole record with a 202 (-14) as Florida won the spring opening event at 28-under.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The No. 8 Florida women's golf won its third straight tournament to start the spring season behind Paula Francisco's runner-up finish and tying the 54-hole program record (202) at the Sea Best Intercollegiate on Tuesday at San Jose Country Club.
Florida also shot its second-lowest tournament score (836) in program history to finish 28-under and edge out No. 16 Duke (-27) by a stroke behind a clutch birdie on the 18th hole from Francisco as the Blue Devils had final round of 14-under this afternoon.
The team title is the third straight victory of the season after closing the fall with back-to-back wins at the OU Intercollegiate and The Ally (third straight victory at the event). Florida also defended its 2025 Sea Best win to mark three straight seasons of three consecutive tournament victories.
It is also the 12th win and 22nd top-3 outing since the 2022-23 season. The tournament title was also the 39th all-time under head coach Emily Glaser; 40th total as she was an assistant coach for a season in 2011-12. It is the third straight season with three-plus single-season wins and seventh time overall under Glaser. The three consecutive seasons of three-plus single-season tournament victories is the third occurrence in program history; 1984-87 and 1993-96.
Francisco entered the day as the individual leader at 9-under and two-shot lead over Duke's Rianne Malixi, who the two battled for medalist honors this afternoon. Paired together, the Gator and Blue Devil were tied atop the leaderboard at 13-under after each made birdie on hole No. 12. However, Malixi's four birdies to finish her round for a final round of 63 (-9) and claim the solo victory at 16-under.
After setting a new career low round (66) yesterday, Francisco continued her stellar play with a bogey-free 67 (-5) today for a tournament score of 202 (-14) as the 54-hole score (202) tied the program record set by Sam Wagner at the 2016 Pat Bradley Invite. Francisco was bogey-free in her final two rounds and across her 54-holes, she made 15 birdies, 38 pars and only one bogey. Francisco's runner-up finish tied her career best outing she set last year at the NCAA Charlottesville Regional as her final tournament score this week was a new career low.
Also playing her name into the record book, Siuue Wu finished with a career-best tournament score of 207 (-9), which is tied for sixth-lowest in program history. She logged all three rounds of 69 (-3) for a career-best 3rd place performance.
Carding her lowest round of the event, Megan Propeck closed with a 69 (-3) en route to her team-leading fourth top-10 outing with a T6 performance. This season, All-American transfer has finishes of T17-T8-1-T8-T6.
Freshman Katelyn Huber also earned her fourth top-10 with a 9th place finish at even-par while Elaine Widjaja (+3) rounded out the lineup in 11th.
