Ben Shelton exits the Australian Open after a loss to Jannik Sinner in the tournament’s quarterfinals.
MELBOURNE, Australia – No. 7 Ben Shelton fell to No.2 ranked Jannik Sinner the Australian Open's quarterfinals. This match had marked the two tennis pro's 10th meeting in their career pushing Sinner ahead with a 9-1 record over Shelton.
The former Gator dropped only four sets in his entire Australian Open run, with one to Ruud and three to Sinner. Shelton had made it to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open for a second straight year and has made it to the quarterfinals in five Grand Slam tournaments.
