Quotes from the Court
Head Coach Ryan Theis
…on the message going into the fifth set
"We said, let's grind these guys down, they're on a three-day trip, let's show our grit here and come out and overpower them in the fifth. We started slow, and then jumped quick."
…on the Selena Leban's defense
"I thought they were bringing pace and she [Leban] was getting in good spots and bringing it up. Just even the pace she was bringing with quality digs was really impressive."
…on the environment for an 8:30 p.m. start time
"It was awesome. We thought there might be 108 people here tonight with the band bringing 100. Awesome from the community and students, we love it."
4th-Year OH Kamryn Chaney
…on her season-high kills
"I talk about this a lot, but it's really just my teammates. My teammates are the most competitive, amazing girls that I've been able to work with and they give me so much confidence when I'm playing, so I know I can swing high and do whatever is best for my team."
…on being able to perform in crunch time
"Honestly, it's our team effort. Everybody is bought into our roles, the team, the energy, how we play together. Everyday we come in to work hard, and competition is competition. We're ready to work, we're ready to show up, and that's how we were able to show up today."
…on Taylor Parks' serving and leadership
"I feel fully confident in Taylor. I would take Taylor any day, she's amazing. This is someone who shows up in the gym and works hard every single day. Taylor's a big reason why we push ourselves so hard. This is someone who holds herself accountable, she has grit, and she's honestly an embodiment of what Florida is about."
3rd-Year S Taylor Parks
…taking down No. 3 Kentucky
"They're a good team, home or away, and we knew it was going to be a fight, but we knew we were going to stick together the whole time. We weren't going to let them out-grit us. They were going to get their big swings, big kills, they're very physical players, they're going to hit over our blocks sometimes, but we roll the ball back, say do it again and let our sideout show we can score like that, too.
