Florida’s 200 medley relay smashes NCAA record while all eight Gators scored in the 1,650 free.
Men’s NCAA Relay Record and Florida’s Distance Highlight Day Two of SEC Championships

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Gators delivered statement performances on day two of the 2026 SEC Championships, highlighted by the men's 200 medley relay NCAA record and two podium finishes from Florida's Ahmed duo in the men's 1,650 free.
Florida delivered major points in Tuesday's one individual swimming event, as the Gators went a perfect eight-for-eight with all entered men's and women's distance swimmers scoring. Through eight events, the No. 4 Gator men lead the team standings with 274 points, while the No. 10 women are second with 190 points, trailing Texas (232).
The squad of Jonny Marshall, Koen de Groot, Scotty Buff and Josh Liendo opened finals with a historic performance, capturing gold with a time of 1:20.03 in the men's 200 medley relay en route to a new NCAA, SEC, SEC Meet, program and pool record. The finish resets Florida's previous record of 1:20.15 set in 2024 as well as improved the Gators' league-best SEC titles in the event to 13.
On the men's side, Florida totaled 107 points in the mile, led by Ahmed Jaouadi who became the 19th Gator to win the event and increase Florida's league-high SEC titles in the event to 27. The freshman touched first in 14:25.14, setting a pool record and the second-fastest time in program history. Olympic gold medalist Ahmed Hafnaoui claimed bronze, clocking a 14:30.74 out of the opening heat to secure the program's third-fastest time in the event. Additional scoring efforts came from Gio Linscheer, who finished fifth in 14:46.24, Eric Brown in 10th at 14:51.10 and Luke Corey in 19th (15:05.68).
The women's distance crew had three scoring performances, with Michaela Mattes leading the way with a fourth-place finish (16:07.98). Camille DeBoer dropped more than nine seconds from her seed time to take sixth in 16:12.22. Julie Brousseau added points with a 19th-place finish (16:35.12).
Both of the women's relays delivered top-10 program times, as the 200 medley relay team of Catie Choate, Anita Bottazzo, Beatriz Bezerra and Lainy Kruger set the program's ninth-fastest time with a 1:35.81 to finish seventh before the 800 free relay team of Brousseau, Kruger, JoJo Ramey and
Sylvia Statkevicius finished fourth. The squad swam the program's 10th-fastest time of 6:59.86.
The men's 800 free relay team of Alexander Painter, Aiden Norman, Charlie Hutchison and Jaouadi concluded Tuesday's events with a fifth-place finish. (6:13.60).
Diving
In women's one-meter action, Camyla Monroy and Alexa Fung advanced to the finals and contribute points to the women's team total. Monroy qualified fourth in prelims (294.15) to reach the championship final and ultimately placed eighth overall with a score of 262.40. Fung improved upon her preliminary mark of 267.45 with a 269.95 in finals to earn 13th place overall. Casey Greenberg also competed, finishing 33rd (228.40).

Swimming preliminaries begin Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. with the 100 back, 200 fly and 100 breast, followed by men's 3-meter diving at 12 p.m. Finals are set for 5 p.m. with the 400 medley relay closing out day three.
