GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Southeastern Conference has announced its annual SEC Indoor Track and Field awards for the 2026 season.
Freshman jumper Temoso Masikane earned the SEC Men's Freshman Field Athlete of the Year award after finishing as the top freshman in both the long jump and triple jump at the SEC Indoor Championships. Masikane ranks 13th nationally in the triple jump with a mark of 16.35m (53-7¾), recorded at the conference meet. The Phokeng, South Africa, native also ranks fifth nationally in the long jump with a leap of 8.11m (26-7¼), achieved during the third meet of his collegiate debut season with the Gators.
Masikane becomes the sixth Florida men's athlete to earn the title since the award's inception in 2004 and the first Gator since Clayton Brown's 2017 season.
Florida head coach Mike Holloway also received conference recognition, earning SEC Women's Coach of the Year honors after guiding the Gators to their fourth women's indoor conference championship under his leadership. The award marks Holloway's sixth SEC Indoor Coach of the Year honor overall and his third on the women's side, with his previous women's recognition coming in 2012.
