Bragg, Hamilton, and Hoskins Earn Big 12 Weekly Honors

Three players earning Big 12 weekly honors are the most earned by the Gators this season
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Following their performances against Penn and Kennesaw State, Theresa Bragg, Clark Hamilton, and Caroline Hoskins all earned Big 12 Weekly Honors, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.
Theresa Bragg was named defensive player of the week, Clark Hamilton earned attacker of the week, and Caroline Hoskins earned freshman of the week after helping the Gators go 2-0 this past week, with a 19-8 win over Penn and a 22-7 win against Kennesaw State.
This is Bragg's first Big 12 weekly honor this season, and her fifth conference player of the week honor. Against Penn, Bragg guarded Penn's leading scorer Catherine Berkery and held her to two points (1 G/1 A), which was below her average of 3.2 goals per game and 4.0 points per game. The Severna Park, Md. native also caused five turnovers against Penn, which set a new career high, is the most caused turnovers by a Gator this season and 16th time a Gators has caused at least five turnovers in a game in program history. Against Kennesaw State, Bragg helped anchor the Gators' defense while capturing one ground ball.
Hamilton has earned her second Big 12 attacker of the week honor this season, and her fifth conference player of the week honor in her career. In the win over Penn, Hamilton scored five goals, her second highest total on the season, on a 1.000 shooting percentage and in the 22-7 win against Kennesaw State, Hamilton put four in the back of the net. These two performances brough her hat trick total to seven games on the season, all but one game this season.
Hoskins earned her first Big 12 weekly honor of her career. Versus Penn, Hoskins posted one goal and one assist and also scooped three ground balls and caused one turnover. Against Kennesaw State, the Towson, Md. native once again posted one goal and one assist while adding two ground balls and two caused turnovers. Hoskins four points (2 G/2 A), five ground balls, three caused turnovers helped provide a strong presence in the midfield for the Gators on their to grabbing two wins this past week.
The Gators are back in action this Saturday, March 21 when they welcome Dartmouth to Donald R. Dizney Stadium at 12 p.m.
