CARLSBAD, Calif. – The No. 3 Florida women's golf team concluded the 2025-26 season finishing 11th at the NCAA National Championship, and missing a match play berth by just five shots on Monday at Omni La Costa. Securing the top finish by a Gator, Siuue Wu finished 2-under in T14 to earn All-Tournament Team and secure All-America honors.
After opening at +9 and sitting T23, Florida posted the program's second-lowest round by par at the NCAA Championship on consecutive days (-3 & -4) in to climb 16 spots total and advance to today's final round of stroke play. The 54-hole score of 886 (+2) was the program's best three-round total at NCAAs by three shots.
The spot in the final 18-holes was the first time in program history. A note on this is that in both 2017 and 2019, the final 18 holes were canceled due to inclement weather.
Florida entered the day tied with Arizona State and Duke for two of the final top-8 match play spots. The Gators started off well and were six shots inside the cut in 7th through the first five holes played, but a 12-over final nine holes moved the Gators on the outside of the top-8 by five shots.
Wu finished with a 72-hole score of 286 (-2), tied for the program's lowest by score and second-lowest by par at the National Championship. Her T14 performance is the best since Sandra Gal in a tie for 4th in 2006. The last UF golfer to shoot 286 was Elcin Ulu in 2014 & the 2-under by Karen Davies in 1987. The all-time mark by par is 3-under from Cheryl Morley and Davies in 1988.
In round two, Wu tied the NCAA record for single round in relation to par with a 64 (-8) and reset the program's second lowest single round by score and par, mark she was tied for with a 65 this season.
The next best finish by UF golfer as from Megan Propeck (T42), who played in her final collegiate tournament and fourth National Championship. The 2026 SEC Newcomer of the Year, was one of five selected for the ANNIKA Development Program, designed to support recent college graduates as they transition into professional golf.
She is also projected to finish in the top-10 of the inaugural LPGA Collegiate Advancement Pathway, earning Epson Tour Status for the remainder of the 2026 season and following. Also, receiving exemption to Qualifying Stage of 2026 LPGA Q-Series, which provides an opportunity to improve status for the 2027 season.
Playing in all 12 tournaments in her freshman season, Katelyn Huber had the low round this afternoon with a 74 (+2). The Gainesville native had strong first postseason with a T25 in stroke play and 2-0 in match play at the SEC Championship and the team best finish at NCAA Regionals, a solo 6th at 4-under.
The No. 3 ranked Gators produced one of the best seasons in program history as the group won five tournaments (three in a row). The five team titles marked consecutive seasons for just the third time in program history (2015-16 & 2016-17, 1984-85 & 1985-86) as both have happened under head coach Emily Glaser, who was the named the WGCA South Region and SEC Coach of the Year.
Individually, there was three individual victories, highlighted by Paula Francisco winning the 2026 SEC Individual Championship. Her first collegiate win broke the 10-year 54-hole tournament record (200, -10). The other medalist honor was from Megan Propeck, who also won her first collegiate event.
Francisco had breakout junior season, being named a finalist for the ANNIKA Award Finalist and to the Division I PINGA WGCA Player of the Year Watch List. She clinched a spot in the 81st U.S. Women's Open shooting 2-under 140 in the qualifier at the Wilderness Country Club (Naples, Fla.). Siuue Wu also earned a spot for her major championship debut in a three-for-one playoff that featured the 2026 National Individual Champion, Farah O'Keefe of Texas.
The Madrid, Spain native was also named to the All-SEC First Team and selected to this year's Arnold Palmer Cup. Francisco became the eighth Gator to win the SEC Championship and first since Maria Torres in 2016. This is the 10th time a UF golfer has been crowned the conference champion, which leads the SEC. The win was the second of Francisco's collegiate career and season. She had a 54-hole tournament score of 202 (-8), which is the third lowest all-time by score in SEC Championship history. It is also the lowest by par from a Gator since Maria Torres won the conference title in 2016 and finished 9-under.
After winning stroke play, the Gators reached the SEC Championship Semifinals as a team, which featured only one returner from last season's runner-up finish. In the last two conference championships, UF has finished runner-up and T3.
In final round of stroke play, the Gators shot their lowest round and the low round of the day with a 276 (-4) to produce a 54-hole score of 831 (-9), six shots ahead of second-place Oklahoma and Texas (-3). Also, the total is second-lowest by score (824-South Carolina 2025) from an SEC team at the conference tournament. The 9-under is the third-lowest in UF history at SECs and only the fourth time under par in 45 years of the SEC Championship.
