Alida van Daalen, Temoso Masikane and head coach Mike Holloway were all honored by the SEC.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Florida track & field head coach Mike Holloway, senior Alida van Daalen and freshman Temoso Masikane were honored by the Southeastern Conference as the SEC revealed its outdoor track & field postseason awards on Monday afternoon.
At the 2026 SEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, van Daalen put on a show in the discus throw. The Rotterdam, Netherlands, native broke her own championship meet record to win the gold medal with a then-NCAA-leading toss of 66.70m/218-10. The senior now owns three of the top-10 throws in collegiate history, with her SEC mark sitting at 10th, her distance of 69.17m/226-11 from the Oklahoma Throws Series at fourth and her personal-best of 69.31m/227-5 from the NCAA East Preliminary at third. This is van Daalen's third SEC postseason award as she swept the 2023 SEC Women's Freshman Field Athlete of the Year honors.
Masikane is now two-for-two in Freshman Field Athlete of the Year awards, after earning the honor at the 2026 SEC Indoor Championships as well. During the outdoor conference championships, Masikane captured the men's long jump SEC title with a then-outdoor personal-best leap of 8.01m/26-3.50. The freshman is the first Gator to win both the indoor and outdoor Freshman of the Year honors since Mike Morrison in 2007.
Head coach Mike Holloway led the Orange & Blue to its first women's Triple Crown since the 1996-97 season and eighth conference outdoor title after the UF women won the 2026 SEC Outdoor Championship, resulting in Holloway's fourth SEC Outdoor Women's Coach of the Year honor. The women claimed the title with 107 points, overtaking second-place by 20.5 points. This season's SEC Women's Coach of the Year Award marks the seventh SEC Outdoor Coach of the Year honor for Holloway and his 14th SEC Coach of the Year honor overall.
Holloway's recognition marks Florida's league-high seventh SEC Coach of the Year honor during the 2025–26 season.
All 16 SEC programs produced at least one Athlete of the Year in 2025–26, with Florida leading the conference with six honorees.
The Gators will be back in action from June 10-13 in Eugene, Ore., as they compete for a pair of NCAA outdoor titles at historic Hayward Field.
