GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The 2026 soccer season kicks off this week across the country and five Gators are already earning preseason recognition.
The Southeastern Conference named five Florida players among the 75 selected to its annual preseason watchlist.
Gators on SEC Preseason Watchlist:
Hannah Jibril (D) – Glyndon, Md.
Season Starts Thursday:
Florida soccer begins the 2026 season Thursday, Aug. 13 at UCF.
This marks the fourth time in the program's 32 seasons that Florida opens its season against UCF, with each of those meetings taking place in Orlando. The Gators hold a 14-8-2 advantage in the all-time series, while the Knights won the most recent meeting, 1-0, on Aug. 28, 2025, at Dizney Stadium.

Hannah Jibril (D) – Glyndon, Md.
- 2025 All-SEC third-team selection as a junior with Mississippi State.
- Led Bulldogs in minutes played last season, averaging 84.2 minutes per match
- 2025 & 2024 All-SEC; 2025 United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region fourth team as a junior with Mississippi State
- Second among 2025 Bulldogs in goals (6) and points (14)
- Earned additional international caps playing with Dominican Republic national team for Concacaf qualifiers vs Suriname (Dec. 2) and at Haiti (April 17)
- Two-time SEC Defensive Player of the Week in 2025 and Oct. 21, 2025 TopDrawerSoccer National Player of the Week
- Competed in three different countries with U.S. U18/U19 National Teams since October 2025
- 2025 SEC All-Freshman team while with Mississippi State. Second among Bulldogs with four assists
- As a Mississippi State junior in 2025, started every match; third in goals (4) and fourth in points (9)
- 2023 All-Conference USA first team and CUSA Freshman of the Year at Louisiana Tech
