Step 1

Fill out the Audition Application

Step 2

Email the completed application, one page resume, and a copy of your UF-ID or letter of admission to:

Applications Due: April 7, 2024

Step 3

You will receive an email to schedule a zoom interview with the Mascot Coaches. The attire is casual. You will be notified following this interview if you are moving on to the final round.

Zoom interviews will be conducted the week of April 7-19, 2024

Step 4

Full details and requirements will be sent to you after completing the steps above.
 
Please have a prepared skit.

Skits must be performed singularly and may not be performed in pairs or groups. Skits may or may not be performed in suit. Skits should highlight your creative ability and personality while still maintaining the character of Albert and Alberta. Music must be provided by the student in a suitable format; check with the Mascot Coaches for sound options. Skit must be between 1:00-1:30 and appropriate for any University of Florida event.

Final Round Auditions will be conducted the week of April 25-26, 2024

Before Submitting Your Application

Please be aware of the following:
  • Cuts will be made periodically throughout the audition process.
  • All Mascots must be available to be in Gainesville at least three weeks prior to the beginning of the fall semester for the start of practice. All lodging and expenses are the responsibility of the Mascot during this time. For the 2024-2025 season, Mascots are required to be available in Gainesville beginning August 1.
  • All dates could change. The UAA will follow the guidelines provided by the SEC, UF, and UF Health to ensure student safety.

Expectations

The Florida mascot program is made up of 6-10 members. All Mascots are expected to perform with the highest level of dedication and commitment. All Mascots must be current University of Florida Students with a minimum 2.5 semester and cumulative GPA or higher and must have full-time student status. The typical time commitment for a Mascot ranges from 3-15 hrs/week. Mascots must be able to store equipment at their residence and transport equipment with their personal vehicles to appearances throughout Alachua County.  Additional expectations and guidelines are available on the Audition Application.
