Williams comes to Florida in the summer of 2025, bringing a wealth of experience across collegiate and professional basketball and most recently serving as the associate head coach at fellow SEC school, Auburn University.

Williams, a Los Angeles native, has had an accomplished coaching career spanning more than four decades. At Auburn, he helped guide the Tigers to the 2024 NCAA Tournament and was responsible for defensive coordination and player development.

Before Auburn, Williams spent multiple seasons in the WNBA, including head coaching roles with the Los Angeles Sparks, Tulsa Shock, and Atlanta Dream. He led the Dream to the 2013 WNBA Finals and has coached numerous All-Stars and Olympians throughout his professional tenure. Williams also served as an assistant coach for the University of Southern California before taking over as the Trojans' head coach from 1995 to 1997.

In the WNBA, Williams was recognized for his ability to rebuild programs and develop talent, highlighted by helping teams reach multiple playoff appearances and establishing winning cultures. His coaching resume also includes scouting and player development roles with several NBA organizations, including the Utah Jazz and Sacramento Kings.

Williams earned his bachelor's degree from Boise State University and holds a strong track record in team development, defensive strategy, and postseason success. He has amassed 144 career WNBA wins and is widely respected for his leadership and strategic game insights.
