
Gators Set to Defend Title at Tavistock Collegiate

Florida one of eight ranked teams in field
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida heads down to Isleworth, Fla. for the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational in a field that includes eight ranked teams.
Last season, the Gators took the Tavistock title back to Gainesville winning the tournament by 11 strokes. An 11-under-par round two from Florida helped them run away with the 2016 title en route to carding a 20-under-par three round score.
Alejandro Tosti will look to defend a title of his own this week. Last year, Tosti was the individual medalist at the tournament carding a 54-hole score of eight-under-par which was one stroke ahead of two Vanderbilt golfers.
Gordon Neale was also in the Gator five when they hoisted the trophy last season. Neale, who is the No. 1 this year, tied for 30th in the event.
Blake Dyer, who competed as an individual in Dallas, makes his first appearance in the Florida lineup this season with J.C. Deacon inserting him in the No. 5 position.
Course Information: The tournament is being played at the Par 72, 7,544 yards at Isleworth Golf & Country Club in Isleworth, Fla. Originally designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay with a re-design by Steve Smyers in 2003, it has a slope of 142 and a rating of 77.5.
Format: 54-hole stroke play where teams will play three rounds over three days. The first 18-holes will be played on Sunday.
The Gators' Lineup
Gordon Neale
Neale is penciled in in the No. 1 slot by Deacon for the second straight tournament. He finished tied for 38th at the Nike Collegiate in Oregon with a below par round on the second day.
Alejandro Tosti
The Gator senior looks to defend his individual title. Last year, Tosti took the lead after 36 holes and held the lead throughout the final round carding a three round score of eight-under.
Chris Nido
The freshman has been in the lineup in every tournament this season. He finished tied for 38th at the Nike Collegiate while carding two sub 70 rounds in Oregon.
John Axelsen
This is the third time this season the Denmark native is in the lineup. The last time he was in the lineup he helped the Gators claim the Trinity Forest by 10 strokes in Dallas.

Dyer is in the Florida lineup for the first time this season. He will be making his second tournament appearance, competing as an individual at the Trinity Forest.
