
Gators set to take part in Kissimmee NCAA Regional

Florida seeks to advance to NCAA Championships for 54th time in program history.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gators head to central Florida for the NCAA Kissimmee Regional, which is set to start Monday.
The field consists of 14 teams and five individuals. After three rounds of play, the top five teams will advance to Stillwater, Okla., to compete in the NCAA Championships.
Florida seeks to make its 54th appearance in the championships and third under the direction of head coach J.C. Deacon.
The Gators are coming off of a semifinal run in the SEC Championships. Sophomore Andy Zhang claimed the SEC individual championship at Sea Island. He will look to continue his good play this week at a course he once lived on.
Gordon Neale and Zhang were both recently named All-SEC and will anchor the top of the Gator lineup for the fifth straight event.
Florida will be paired with the other top three seeds in No. 1 Vanderbilt and No. 3 North Carolina. Alejandro Tosti will be the first Gator to tee off at 7:30 a.m. (ET).
Course Information: The tournament is being held at the Par 72, 7,154 yards Watson Course at Reunion Resort in Reunion, Fla.
Format: 54-hole stroke play where teams will play three rounds over three days with the top five teams advancing.

The Gators' Lineup
Neale has been on the top line of the Gator lineup in the last seven events while being the top finisher in three of the last five tournaments.
Zhang is coming off winning the SEC Individual Title in Sea Island. He was the 24th individual title in program history. He also won his quarterfinal match against Ole Miss 2&1 to help the Gators advance.
Axelsen was a key cog for Florida in match play competition at the SEC Championship. The Denmark native won both his quarterfinal match (3&2) and semifinal match (4&3) over Ole Miss and Alabama, respectively.
Nido also came up big for the Gators during match play. The freshman claimed his quarterfinal match 4&3 while having his semifinal match suspended A/S on the 18th hole.
Tosti makes his third straight start out of the No. 5 position. The Gator senior will compete in his third NCAA Regional event. Tosti finished second at the Kohler Regional in 2016 as a sophomore.
