On Florida Volleyball:
- The Gators received 70 votes in this week's AVCA Coaches Poll and are coming off a strong weekend at home, earning back-to-back wins over then-No. 25 Missouri and Vanderbilt. Florida has an RPI of 38 and is 3-3 against Top-25 teams.
- Freshman libero Lily Hayes was named the SEC's Co-Freshman of the Week on Oct. 13, making her the 20th player in program history to garner the award and the first defensive player to do so since Elli McKissock in 2020. It also marks Florida's first SEC weekly accolade of the 2025 season.
- In conference play, the Gators rank second in digs per set (14.73), third in kills per set (14.08) and fifth in hitting percentage (.253), opponent hitting percentage (.220) and assists (12.62 per set).
- Three players represent Florida among SEC leaders, with setter Alexis Stucky averaging 10.62 assists per set to rank third in SEC play. Hayes sits seventh with 3.65 digs per set, while middle Blocker Jaela Auguste, who leads the Gators in blocks, currently ranks 10th in SEC matches with 1.12 blocks per set.
- After a standout start to the 2025 season, outside hitter Jordyn Byrd was among 17 players added to the AVCA National Player of the Year Watchlist, presented by Nike Volleyball, joining the 30 nominees originally announced in August. The Sarasota native currently leads the Gators in kills (230) and points (244.5), while adding 27 blocks, having played only 15 matches in her collegiate career.
- The Lady Vols climbed to No. 16 in this week's AVCA Top-25 poll and return home after a three-match road stretch. Tennessee posted a reverse sweep over LSU on Oct. 3 before falling to No. 2 Texas in five sets on Oct. 8, then closed the trip with a sweep of Ole Miss on Sunday. They have an RPI of 22 and a 1-2 record against Top-25 matchups.
- Tennessee is currently hitting .294 in conference play, which ranks third in the league. They rank fourth in assists per set (12.68) and fifth in kills per set (13.53) and seventh in blocks per set (2.39).
- Lady Vols leading attacker, Hayden Kubik, ranks fifth in points per set (4.97) and seventh in the league for kills per set (4.37), while setter Caroline Kerr is 10th in the league with 8.89 assists per set.
- Defensively, Chelsea Sutton and Zoe Humphrey continue to lead the Lady Vols at the net, ranking eighth in the SEC in hitting percentage (.370) and seventh in blocks per set (1.37), respectively. In the back row, Gulce Guctekin ranks eighth in digs per set (3.63).
