
Gators Set to Open Postseason at SEC Championships

The Gators head to Knoxville, Tenn. for their first postseason race.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gators kick off their postseason stretch in Knoxville, Tenn. as they take on the SEC Cross Country Championships on Oct. 31. The men will take the course for the 8k race at approximately 10:08 a.m. with the women's 6k to follow at 10:53 am.
Eighteen Gators will suit up for the Orange and Blue on the Cherokee Farm Cross Country Course.
The No. 3 women will face four other nationally ranked SEC teams, including No. 20 South Carolina, No. 23 Missouri, No. 25 Alabama and No. 27 Tennessee. On the men's side, the unranked Gators will find themselves up against No. 8 Alabama, No. 20 Georgia, No. 22 Missouri, No. 26 Ole Miss and No. 29 Oklahoma.
Kelvin Cheruiyot returns to the line for his third consecutive race of the season, after earning SEC Men's Runner of the Week from his first place finish at the Pre National Invitational. The men's 8k will also feature Oussama Allaoui and Riley Novack who finished with Cheruiyot as the Gators' top three runners their last time out.
On the women's side, Reagan Gilmore will make her second consecutive appearance of the season after being the first Gator to finish in the Pre National Invitational. Judy Chepkoech will join Gilmore at the line, returning for the first time since her Gator debut at the Gans Creek Classic where she placed seventh overall and first for the Orange and Blue.
Results for the SEC Cross Country Championships will be available on AdkinsTrak Timing Associates. Live Coverage of the event will be available on SEC Network beginning at 10 a.m.
