GAINESVILLE, Fla. – College gymnastics' biggest spotlight shines on Gainesville Friday as the 20th Annual Gators Link to Pink presented by UF Health brings together No. 5 Florida and No. 1 and defending NCAA champion Oklahoma for the nation's top meet of the weekend. The annual tradition also shines a meaningful light on breast cancer awareness and support.
The meet begins at 6:45 p.m. in the Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center, with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. Friday's meet airs on ESPN2.
About Gators Link to Pink:
Events aimed to raise awareness about breast cancer prevention and treatment will be included at Friday's meet. These meets are part of a Southeastern Conference initiative and most of the league's teams will participate in a "pink" meet this season. Team colors are set aside as the teams wear pink to show their support for the breast cancer fight.
Everyone in the arena will find a pink t-shirt at their seat, compliments of UF Health.
Be in your seat by 6:45 p.m. to cheer for the Gators and celebrate the breast cancer survivors who will line the floor exercise to welcome the team onto the competition floor.
