GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida Head Women's Basketball Coach Tammi Reiss announced today that the team has signed 6-3 University of Southern California forward Vivian Iwuchukwu (EE-woo-CHEW-kwoo).
"I'm so excited to welcome Vivian to our Gators family," said Reiss. "She is an incredible athlete with explosive strength, power and speed that will translate on both sides of the ball. Vivian will fit into our offensive system very well with her ability to run the floor and score inside. She can defend anywhere on the court, but has the strength and agility to defend the paint in the SEC.
"I am looking for Vivian to have a much larger offensive role than she had at USC. She has the ability to become a double-double player for us. Vivian's greatest asset is her work ethic and commitment to greatness. She is a fantastic culture young woman who understands what it means to represent the University of Florida. Her work ethic is superb and her commitment to improving her game and winning is unmatched. I cannot wait to get her in the gym and watch her flourish."
Iwuchukwu is no stranger to the sunshine state, as she led Montverde Academy, located 30 minutes west of Orlando, to three national championships. As a senior, she averaged 11.4 points and 7.1 rebounds, and was ranked the No. 47 recruit in the nation by ESPNW.
Prior to making her way to Florida, Iwuchukwu attended Robert G. Hole High School in Texas, where she also played volleyball and was a district, area and region champion in the 200-meter dash on the track and field team.
A rising junior, Iwuchukwu saw action in 31 games for the Trojans in 2025-26, starting 11, and earning a spot on the Big Ten Winter All-Academic Team. During those 11 starts, she connected on 54.3 percent of her field goal attempts, establishing career single-game highs in scoring (11 points vs. Tennessee Tech on Nov. 25, 2025) and rebounding (6 boards at Michigan State on Jan. 22, 2026).
USC was ranked as high as eighth in the country last season, and the Trojans made their fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance, advancing to the second round before falling to South Carolina.
