Spainsh defender Carlota Martins, who played with FC Barcelona C the last two years, joins the Gator soccer team this fall.
Gator Soccer Signs Carlota Martins

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Spain defender Carlota Martins joins the University of Florida soccer team for the upcoming season.
She played for FC Barcelona C the last two seasons and has been a part of the Barcelona program for eight years. The team won its play-off promotion on May 10, 2026 to conclude the season. Martins appeared in 23 matches in 2025-26, playing the entirety of 14 at left back.
Martins made 10 appearances with Spain Youth National Teams, competing three times for Under 15 national team, five times for U16 and twice with U17.
She appeared in both of Spain's September 2024 U17 friendlies versus England, playing the entirety and serving as captain of the Sept. 12 friendly.
While with Spain's U16 national team, Martins played the entirety of March 15, 2024 3-0 win over Belgium in a match played in Belfast, Ireland, which secured the Spain U16 team win of the UEFA Development Tournament. Also played the entirety of 2-1 win over Iceland on March 10 to open the event.
