Etiquette

Our scholar-athletes are young professionals and GatorMade provides several opportunities for them to be equipped to navigate formal spaces. From banquets to future business deals, understanding proper etiquette is a transferable skill across industries and environments. We take a three-pronged approach to this development through an in-person session on engagement, a formal dining experience, and the opportunity to network in corporate settings.
Hosted at Spurriers Gridiron Grill, our young men take a seat at the table to learn the unspoken rules of dining etiquette. Through multiple courses and engagement throughout the dinner, our freshmen have the opportunity to make an impression that represents themselves and the program in a first-class manner.
Through a session hosted by Patricia Rossi, author of Everyday Etiquette and trainer to professional sports organizations alike, our team was exposed to the purpose of etiquette. Going well beyond mannerly behavior, Rossi explained that it is all about showing and receiving respect in all kinds of environments. From her teaching practices, our young professionals were able to craft introductions, navigate networking spaces, and empower other people through their interactions.
