Jason Traylor returned to his alma mater as the athletic performance coach for the Florida Women’s Basketball program in 2024.
His responsibilities include designing and implementing year-round performance plans for the Women’s Basketball Team out of the Hugh Hathcock Basketball Complex. Traylor guides each student-athlete through an individual training program designed to enhance strength, as well as explosive power, speed, agility, endurance, coordination, balance, flexibility and mental toughness.
The 2012 University of Florida graduate has worked with three McDonald’s All-Americans during his two seasons with the Gators including two-time All-American and All-SEC First Team member Liv McGill.
In coordination with the rest of the Gators Sports Health & Performance Staff, Traylor has helped ensure that Florida Women’s Basketball has been the healthiest team in the SEC since 2024, missing just two player games to injury during that time.
Prior to his return to Gainesville, Traylor was with the football program at Northern Illinois University from 2022 to 2024. He also spent time at the University of Louisiana Monroe, Bethlehem Christian Academy (Georgia) and The Ohio State University in their strength and conditioning departments.
Starting as a volunteer intern (2013) and part time assistant, Traylor worked under Matt DeLancey. Assisting and implementing programs for Volleyball, Track & Field, and Swimming & Diving from 2014 to 2018. Prior to a career in athletic performance, Traylor spent the fall of 2012 as a graduate assistant football coach at Clark Atlanta University.
A sociology major, Traylor was a member of the Gators football team during his time as a student in Gainesville. He earned a Master’s Degree in exercise science with an emphasis on injury prevention from California University of Pennsylvania (now Penn West) in 2021.
