FAIRFAX, Va. - The University of Florida (11-1, 5-0 SEC) earned their fourth victory over a ranked opponent this year with a 4-1 victory over No. 12 UNC Greensboro (9-3, 2-0 BIG SOUTH). Gator forwards Melissa Pini and Danielle Fotopoulos scored all four goals for the Gators and combined for 11 points on the day. Pini tied her own team record by scoring six points on two goals and two assists while Fotopoulos had a season best in points with five from two goals and one assist.

The Gators got on the board at 13:46 when Pini struck a six yarder to the back of the net after a solo breakaway from midfield. She also scored the Gators second goal on a five yarder from within the goal box. Pini would then have the assist on UF's third goal scored by Fotopoulos at 36:42. Fotopoulos also scored the lone goal of the second half at 77:09 on a four yard shot down center after receiving the pass from Heather Mitts. UNC Greensboro got on the scoreboard before the end of the first half at 43:08 when Ali Lord netted the ball four yards down the center. Florida outshot UNCG 16-5.
