GAINESVILLE, Fla. ‑ The No. 11 University of Florida soccer team defeated in-state rival Central Florida 7-0 in front of a Percy Beard Stadium crowd of 1,531 Friday night.

Seven goals Friday gives UF a three-match record of 24 goals- matching its record set in 1996. The Gators have scored at least six goals in their last four matches.

Lisa Olinyk, playing in place of injured Adrianne Moreira, got the Gators on the board first at the 18:55 point of the first half off a 25- yard deflection off UCF's goalkeeper. Freshman Christie Brady put the Gators up 2-0 with her first collegiate goal with an assist from freshman Renee Reynolds. Angie Olson ended the half with goal from Alison Benoit at the 44:38 mark of the first half to put the Gators up 3-0.

Sarah Yohe started the second half with a goal off a cross from sophomore Heather Mitts at the 49:43 point of the second half. Melissa Pini extended the Gator lead to 5-0 with her team-leading ninth goal of the season. Yohe added her fifth goal in her last two games with an assist from Danielle Bass at the 55:12 mark. Junior forward Katie Tullis scored her first goal of the season of a 18-yard pass from Andrea Sellers to give the Gators the final 7-0 score.

The Gators (7-2-1, 3-1) are back in action Sunday, Oct. 5, against Butler at 2:30 p.m.
