
Florida Men Capture UCF Invitational Title; Women Claim Second

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Gators made their presence known at the UCF Knights Invitational on Friday evening, as the Florida men took home the crown while the women claimed a second-place finish behind three top-10 finishes each on both sides. Florida saw six personal records on the evening, as Madison Morse recorded her first career top-five finish in the women's 6k race, while Jesse Millson, Caden Monk and Carson Lyttle additionally all notched first career top-five finishes in the men's 8k race.
Florida's runners accounted for 37 points on the men's side to take first place in the meet, followed by FAU (52 points) and FIU (64 points).
The women amassed 55 points, falling second to host UCF (33 points), as FIU (75 points) took third place while FAU (77 points) and Jacksonville (116 points) followed in fourth and fifth respectively.
The Florida men were determined in their approach to the men's 8k race, as the Gators snagged three of the top five finishes. Redshirt junior Jesse Millson would cross the finish line first for the Gators with a third-place time of 25:45.17. Freshman Caden Monk impressed in his Gators debut, following behind Millson in fourth with a personal best time of 25:50.45. Carson Lyttle then finished shortly after to secure the 3-4-5 finish with a personal record of 25:52.64.
Dominic Williams and Cavan Wilson then rounded out the Gators' top-five with top-20 finishes, finishing 12th and 16th respectively.
Though UCF would tally three of the first five finishes in the women's 6k race, Madison Morse managed to crack the top-five with a personal best performance of 22:48.14. Freshman Jackie Addy would be the next Gator to cross the line, recording a top-10 finish (8th) in her Gators debut with a personal record time of 22:59.08. Sophie Piniella followed next in 10th place to cap the top-10 finishers, as she also produced a personal best performance with a time of 23:18.14.
Freshman Gianna Forte (13th) and Autumn Bartlett (23rd) clocked in top-25 finishes for the Gators to round out the top five, with Forte seeing a personal record time of 23:21.66.
