
Gators Tab High Rankings in Preseason Polls

The Florida Gators Cross Country team earns multiple top 10 nods in Preseason Rankings.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The USTFCCCA and SEC both announced their cross country preseason polls on Monday and Tuesday, as the Gators gear up for their season opener on Friday, Aug. 29.
The Florida women's cross country team enters the season ranked 11th in the USTFCCCA Preseason National Rankings and is projected to finish second in the South Region and the SEC, earning nine first-place votes in the SEC preseason poll. The women are coming off a strong 2024 season that included a third-place finish at the SEC Championships, highlighted by Hilda Olemomoi's runner-up performance. Florida went on to place second at the NCAA South Regional, earning a spot at the NCAA Championships, where they finished 12th to close out their season.
The men's team looks to build off their 2024 season, as they are projected to finish seventh in the South Region and 11th in the SEC.
The 2025 NCAA DI Cross Country Championships are set for Saturday, November 22, in Columbia, Missouri.
USTFCCCA Rankings
The USTFCCCA Regional Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning teams' strength with current season results (if applicable) in determining a rank-order of squad potential. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible to receive a ranking. Teams with provisional status within the region may be ranked.

SEC Cross Country Preseason Poll
Points for the men's poll were awarded on a 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13 basis, while points for the women's poll were awarded on a 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13-14-15 basis, where the fewest combined points determined the final ranking. Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own teams.
