No. 7 Gators Wall Up in 3-1 Victory Over No. 19 Texas A&M
Friday, October 16, 2026 | Volleyball
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – No. 7 Florida volleyball used strong defense at the net to pull away from No. 19 Texas A&M at Reed Arena, beating the Aggies in four sets (25-19, 23-25, 25-17, 25-16) in front of 6,464 fans.
The Gators (14-2, 5-1 SEC) gave Texas A&M (10-8, 3-3 SEC) problems at the net throughout Friday's match, matching their season high with 16 team blocks. Brooklyn Briscoe led the way with seven, while Alec Rothe and Taylor Parks each added six, a career high for Parks. In the back row, Lily Hayes and Logan King each reached double-digit digs, with 14 and 11, respectively, accounting for 25 of UF's 57. Six Gators finished with five or more digs. The Aggies had 56 digs and 11 blocks.

Quotes from the Court
Head Coach Ryan Theis
…on the bounce-back victory over Texas A&M
"I don't know if it was our best serving match from an ace-to-error perspective, but we played lower error and we missed less serves, so that was part of it to keep on them and allow ourselves the ability to get point runs. Our block got us the rest of those. We weren't siding-out great, and then all of a sudden in the second half of set three, our sideout game finally got it going. Then when you throw good serving, block and sideout at them, the score gets a little lopsided.
…on what contributes to the team's versatility
"The balance of volleyball we have with physicality. When Selena, Bella, Taylor and Lily are on the floor, you're really good at volleyball, and then you throw-in three blocks a set and 15 or 16 kills, it's a lot to stop."
Third-Year Opposite Logan King
…on her second double-double of the season
"I think I always say this, but you can't get a double-double without your team. Taylor found a connection really well tonight, the passes were so on point that it made it really easy to see holes in the block and try to swing there. As far as defensively, we're getting really great touches, so that made it easy on me, but it's a team effort and I'm happy to see we're doing well."
…on the resiliency of this team
"It's definitely the personnel on this team. We've all come from different places and people might think that's a weakness because we're trying to mesh together, but the strength of the team is in the versatility we have and ability to be fighters. That's a really big piece, but also throughout practice we do a good job of getting into stress situations so when we get on the court, we're fully prepared."
