
No. 18 Gators Men’s Tennis Takes 4-1 Victory Over Razorbacks in Regular Season Finale

Florida finishes the regular season with a 15-12 record and a conference record of 6-8, highlighted by Pablo Perez Ramos earning 100 career wins in singles.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Gators finish their regular season with a 4-1 win over No. 36 ranked Arkansas on the road. With the team's win on the road, No. 18 Florida is now 36-3 against Arkansas in program history.
The day started outdoors with doubles, with all three courts playing out their matches to determine the point. Arkansas was able to secure the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. Kevin Edengren and Andreas Timini fell 6-1 to Brendan Boland and Dmitry Kopilevich on court three, but Henry Jefferson and Tanapatt Nirundorn were able to secure a 6-4 win over No. 31 Eric Padgham and Ben Weintraub on court one. This left the decision up to court two with Pablo Perez Ramos and Adhithya Ganesan against No. 85 ranked Connor Smillie nad Jakub Vrba. After a slight rain delay and moving indoors to finish their match, Connor Smillie and Jakub Vrba were able to take the point for the Razorbacks with a 7-6(7-3) win.
The Gators rebounded on the indoor courts by not dropping a singles match to secure the 4-1 victory over the Razorbacks. Ganesan was the first to finish with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Lukas Palovic on court one. Highlighting the afternoon was Ramos's 6-3, 6-2 win over Dmitry Kopilevich on court four to give the Gators the 2-1 lead. With this win, Ramos secured his 100th singles win in his career, becoming the 13th player in program history to reach 100 wins and is the second transfer into the program to reach this achievement. Edengren's 6-4, 6-3 win on court six put the team in position to clinch the win, which came from Lorenzo Claverie on court three who won 6-3, 6-4 over Ben Weintraub.

With the regular season coming to an end, Florida will travel to Texas A&M to play in the SEC Tournament. The Gators tied with Auburn and Ole Miss in the SEC rankings with a 6-8 record. The final brackets will be determined following Texas A&M and Oklahoma's match tonight at 8:30 p.m. EST. It is projected that the Gators will be either the eighth or ninth seeded team in the tournament, which will have them play on Thursday, April 16 at 3 p.m. EST.
