Softball Drops Series Finale, 9-1, at Georgia

ATHENS, Ga. – The No. 6/8 Florida softball team (47-9, 17-7 SEC) dropped its series finale at No. 17/14 Georgia (35-17, 12-12 SEC) on Saturday afternoon, 9-1, in five innings at Jack Turner Softball Stadium to finish the regular season.
With the win, the Bulldogs took 2-1 series win, just the second series loss for the Gators this season.
Florida got on the board first in the third inning with a two-out RBI double from Jocelyn Erickson, her 15th of the season, to drive in Taylor Shumaker who reached on a walk.
Georgia put up a four-spot in the bottom of the fourth, scoring four unearned runs, including a two-run home run, to pull ahead, 5-1.
The Bulldogs then hit a walk-off grand slam to secure the five-inning run-rule victory.
Keagan Rothrock (26-6, 13-4 SEC) suffered just her fourth loss in conference play, allowing nine runs, four earned, on seven hits with a pair of walks.
Up next, the Gators await their seeding for the 2026 SEC Tournament hosted in Lexington, Ky., from May 5-9 at John Cropp Stadium.
