Gators Head to Tulsa for ITA All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. – Multiple Gators will travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to compete in the ITA All-American Championships, with Henry Jefferson, Ty Host, Kevin Edengren, Andreas Timini, Alaa Trifi and Chen Ye representing Florida at the University of Tulsa.
The tournament is hosted by the University of Tulsa at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center with other matches also being played at LaFortune Park Tennis Center. Ben Shelton is the only Gator to win the tournament, completing the feat in 2021. This year's tournament runs from Sept. 19-27.
The competition features singles and doubles tournaments with multiple draws to host all of the different players from schools across the country. The three draws include pre-qualifying, qualifying and main draw competition. Players who advance from pre-qualifying will have the chance to compete in the qualifying and main draws if they continue to win.
Ye, Edengren, Timini and Host are all competing in the pre-qualifying singles draw with the first set of matches beginning on Saturday, Sept. 19. The Gators' day begins with Host at 9 a.m. Before Edengren and Ye make their season debuts at 1:30 p.m., Timini will cap the day's competition with a 2 p.m. start. Trifi will start tournament play in the qualifying singles draw which commences on Sept. 21. Jefferson will take the court on Sept. 23 in the singles main draw after being ranked preseason No. 39 by the ITA.
Preseason No. 41 Host and Jefferson will compete in the doubles portion in the qualifying doubles draw with the potential to move up to the main draw if another team withdraws from the tournament. Preseason No. 64 Edengren and Timini will team up to compete in the qualifying doubles draw.
