GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida men's and women's cross country teams host their lone home meet of the 2019 season on Saturday morning (Sept. 14), welcoming over 30 collegiate programs to UF's Mark Bostick Golf Course for the 2019 Mountain Dew Invitational.
The two events scheduled, the men's 8k race and women's 5k race, are highlighted by a field of different collegiate programs from Florida and around the southeast.
On the men's side, the Gators and North Florida headline the men's field, being ranked in the top-15 of the Division I USTFCCCA South Region rankings, while regionally-ranked Division II programs Embry-Riddle, Florida Southern, Saint Leo, Tampa, Lynn and Nova Southeastern also add to the men's competition.
The Florida women have dominated the Mountain Dew Invitational, seeking their sixth consecutive title this season, as the Gators and North Florida women also highlight the women's competition as the lone regionally-ranked Division I programs competing on Saturday. Additionally, regionally-ranked Division II programs Flagler College, Anderson University (S.C.) and Georgia College add to the women's field.
The Gators last competed two weeks ago (Aug. 30) in a dual meet at North Florida, in which the Florida women opened the 2019 season victorious, sweeping the first four finishes and claiming seven of the top-10 in a two-mile race, while the men finished runner-up to the Ospreys with five top-15 finishes in a three-mile race.

MOUNTAIN DEW INVITATIONAL HISTORY
- The Florida women have tallied 13 titles since the home event was renamed the Mountain Dew Invitational in 2005, while the men have earned nine titles – finishing in third place last season.
- Eight Gators on each side have claimed individual titles at the Mountain Dew Invitational – the most recent being senior Jessica Pascoe (2018).
- Pascoe's first-place finish time of 16:13.87 (PR) in last season's Mountain Dew Invitational set the fastest time in MDI history for the 5k.
- Last season's meet saw eight PRs on the women's side and six on the men's side.
- Jessica Pascoe leads all current Gators with three top-five finishes at the MDI, while redshirt senior Elisabeth Bergh follows with two on the women's side. On the men's side, Colin Schaefer holds two top-five finishes at the meet.
