The Gators are 0-1 in the ITA National Indoors with a first round loss from No. 6 Mississippi State, but look to improve over No. 16 Clemson in the consolation bracket.
DALLAS, Texas – The No. 23 Gators lost in the first round of the ITA National Team Indoor Championships to No. 6 Mississippi State.
The Gators started from behind with a loss of the doubles point. Court one was manned by Henry Jefferson and Lorenzo Claverie, who left their match unfinished at 5-4 against No. 6 Benito Sanchez Martinez and Petar Jovanovic form Mississippi State. The Gators fell on court three with Kevin Edengren and Tanapatt Nirundorn falling 1-6 to Bryan Hernandez Cortes and Raphael Vaksmann. The Bulldogs took an early lead after taking the win against Pablo Perez Ramos and Adhithya Ganesan on court two going 4-6.
In singles, the line up consisted of Ganesan at court one, Jefferson at court two, Claverie at court three, Ramos at court four, Edengren at court five and Andreas Timini at court six. The Gators fell on courts three (4-6, 4-6) and five (2-6, 4-6), going down 3-0 in the dual. Jefferson was able to secure a point for the Gators on court two against No. 6 ranked Petar Jovanovic (6-3, 3-6, 6-2). Ramos was headed to set three against Raphael Vaksmann after going 4-6, 7-6(5). Ganesan was playing in his third set when the match ended with a loss on court six from Timini.

The ITA National Team Indoors consists of 16 teams facing off in dual meets across two sites in Texas. The Gators were assigned to the SMU site and are headed into the consolation round against the No. 16 Clemson. The other side of the bracket will compete in Waco, Texas at Baylor, which will host teams like Baylor (host), LSU, Texas A&M, TCU, Texas, UCF, UC Santa Barbara and Wake Forest who was the 2025 champion.
With the tournament's format, the Gators are guaranteed a consolation match on Saturday against No. 16 Clemson and then a third match on Sunday.
