
No. 20 Gators Men’s Tennis Shuts Out Tennessee in 4-0 Victory

Florida improves to 48-34 over the Volunteers and 11-9 on the season after a double road win this weekend.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Gators are on a three-match win streak with their 4-0 victory over the Tennessee Volunteers. Tennessee is ranked in the top-50 at No. 48 with two players ranked in singles.
The Gators never wavered against the Volunteers, starting strong with their fifth-straight doubles point. Lorenzo Claverie and Pablo Perez Ramos started the Gators off with a 6-1 win on court two over Jose Garcia and Piotr Siekanowicz. No. 22 ranked Henry Jefferson and Tanapatt Nirundorn followed up with a 6-1 win of their own over Shion Itsusaki and Ethan Muza on court one. Although Kevin Edengren and Andreas Timini did not finish their match on court three, the pair was up 5-3 over their opponents Woodson McMillin and Boruch Skierkier.
In singles, every Gator won their first set, with match wins coming from Adhithya Ganesan on court one, Jefferson on court three and Edengren on court six. Jefferson finished first with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Jan Kobierski and was followed up by Ganesan with a 6-3, 6-4 win over No. 106 Jose Garcia. Edengren clinched the match for the Gators' shutout with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Ethan Muza.
