
No. 3/5 Softball Hosts Stetson for In-State Midweek Matchup

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Coming off a series win over No. 1 Tennessee over the weekend, the No. 3/5 Florida softball team now turns its attention to a midweek match up against Stetson.
The Gators will host the Hatters on Wednesday at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium, with first pitch set for 6 p.m. on SEC Network+.
Fans can also listen on 98.1 FM/850 AM WRUF where Sky LeBron and Steve Russell will have the radio call.
Florida (31-2) is looking for its 13th-straight win over Stetson (19-13), going back to the 2006 season.
The Gators are 7-0 against in-state opponents this season, with wins over USF, North Florida, Jacksonville, FIU and Bethune Cookman.

- Taylor Shumaker was named the SEC Player of the Week for the second time this season on Tuesday after helping lead the Gators to a 2-1 series victory over No. 1 Tennessee
- The sophomore outfielder hit a team-best .500 (5-for-10) in three games against the Lady Vols, including driving in two of Florida's three runs in the series-deciding game on Sunday with a leadoff solo home run and an RBI single
- Against the No. 1 pitching staff in the NCAA, she recorded two multi-hit games and extended her hitting streak to a career and team-best 15 games
- Gabi Comia and Kenleigh Cahalan were named the Softball America Co-Defensive Players of the Week on Tuesday
- Keagan Rothrock is the nation's leader in victories with a 17-2 record on the season, including a 6-1 mark in SEC play
- Shumaker ranks second in the NCAA in runs scored (52), third in hits (56) and fifth in total bases (106)
- She has plated a run in all but four of Florida's 33 games this season (28 games with at least one run)
- Jocelyn Erickson is five RBIs from 200 as a Gator. She would be just the sixth Florida player to have 200 or more in their career
- Reagan Walsh in 2025 was the last Florida player to reach 200 RBIs
- As a team, the Gators rank in the top-5 in the country in batting average (.389), doubles (70), hits (353), home runs (71), on-base percentage (.488), RBIs (292), pitching shutouts (12), total runs (304) and walks (166)
