GAINESVILLE, Fla. – No. 8 Florida volleyball is set to conclude the nonconference portion of the schedule on Wednesday evening when it welcomes Jacksonville to the Stephen C. O'Connell Center for a 6:30 p.m. ET first serve.
Wednesday's matchup will air live on SEC Network+ with Ryan Urquhart and Missy Whittemore on the call, while Tom Collett and Nick Cheronis will handle radio responsibilities on 98.1 FM/850 AM WRUF.
The Gators (8-1, 0-0 SEC) enter Wednesday's contest with Jacksonville (6-6, 0-0 ASUN) fresh off a road victory over in-state rival Florida State, 3-1, and have won six consecutive matches. Florida's 8-1 start is the best since beginning 9-1 in 2023.
Prizes for students and fans will be given away throughout the match, with fans having the chance to win an Apple Watch, Beats Solo Buds, Beats Pill, Instax Instant Camera, a Home Theater Projector or a Gators Swag Bag.

- Logan King tallied a career-high seven blocks to go along with seven digs against Florida State, helping hold FSU to its lowest hitting percentage of the season en route to winning SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week. King became the first Gator to win an SEC Defensive Player of the Week honor since Elli McKissock on Nov. 4, 2024.
- The Gators came in at No. 8 in the Sept. 21 AVCA/TARAFLEX Top 25 poll.
- With the week's rankings, Florida volleyball boasts its highest ranking as a program since finding itself at No. 4 nearly three years ago in the Sept. 25, 2023 AVCA poll.
- Florida's 8-1 start marks the best start for the program since the 2023 season. The 2023 squad began its season 10-1.
- The Gators' current six-match win streak is the longest since reeling off 10 straight from Oct. 18 to Nov. 23, 2024.
- Florida has established itself as one of the best defensive teams in the SEC, leading the SEC in blocks per set (2.84) and sitting second in opponent hitting percentage (.161).
- Against Florida State, the Gators got defensive with 14 total team blocks, led by seven each from King and Alec Rothe. The effort marked the fifth time during the 2026 campaign that the Orange & Blue have recorded 10 or more blocks in a match.
- Florida was picked to finish fourth in the SEC Preseason Poll, behind favorite Kentucky, Texas and Texas A&M. Jordyn Byrd and Alec Rothe were both named to the Preseason All-SEC Team.
- Jacksonville enters Wednesday's contest with a 6-6 mark, most recently going 2-1 at the 305 Classic with wins over Alabama A&M and Central Michigan.
- The Dolphins were picked to finish second in the Atlantic Sun Conference, with outside hitter Claire Mrukowski and middle blocker Haley Yount earning Preseason All-ASUN honors. Yount was named the Preseason ASUN Player and Defensive of the Year.
- Yount leads the Dolphins with a .441 hitting percentage, while Abbie Tuyo leads the offense with 3.39 kills per set.
- Tuyo earned the ASUN Player of the Week honor after a career weekend at the 305 Classic. She's recorded double-digit kills in five straight matches and in eight of her 12 appearances this season.
- Setter Ana Nastase was named the ASUN Freshman of the Week after the 305 Classic, notching team highs for assists (55) and digs (25) while also adding 14 kills, nine service aces and three blocks.
- Wednesday will mark the first time in program history that Jacksonville has met multiple top-10 teams in the same season. The Dolphins met No. 2 Pittsburgh on Sept. 11, falling 3-0 to the Panthers.
