BOISE, Idaho  – The No. 22 University of Florida gymnastics team posted its top team total of the 2000 season Friday to claim a 195.85-195.575 win over No. 31 Boise State in front of a BSU Pavilion crowd of 1,410. The win ups Florida's season record to 3-8, while BSU drops to 3-3.
 
Florida senior Chrissy Van Fleet set her collegiate all-around record Friday en route to claiming the meet's all-around title at 39.60. Her previous best of 39.55 was set at the 1999 SunTrust Invitational. BSU's Jamie Johns was second in the all-around at 39.35, while UF sophomore Hilary Thompson was third, also with a collegiate-best 39.30.
 
The Gators owned a slender .025 lead after the meet's first two rotations. Both teams were forced to count one fall toward their uneven bars team total, but both team also turned in strong vault performances Friday as UF and BSU each turned in 49+ team scores for the event. The Gators turned in season-best team totals for both the vault (49.20) and bars (48.475) Friday and Van Fleet claimed both event titles. Van Fleet posted a season-best 9.90 in the vault and turned in the top bars mark of 9.925. UF junior Teal Chiabotti shared second on the vault with BSU's Debbie Thompson at 9.875 – a season-best for Chiabotti.
 
After the Gators turned in their second-highest floor total of the season (49.25), UF owned a slender .575 lead heading into the final rotation. UF freshman Lindsey Miner and Thompson shared third on the floor to lead UF on the event with marks of 9.90. That lead was quickly put in jeopardy when the first two Gators fell from the balance beam. But UF's final four competitors turned in no score lower than 9.875, including the final three – Hilary Thompson, Lindsey Miner and Van Fleet - each turning in season-best marks of 9.90.
 
BSU's Debbie Thompson won the floor with a mark of 9.95 and Tiffany Weston claimed the balance beam crown also with a 9.95.
 
Florida returns home to play host to The SunTrust Spectacular on Friday, Feb. 18. The meet, which features No. 7 Nebraska, No. 18 New Hampshire and Towson, begins at 7 p.m. in the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.
