All-Time Series
Florida will square off against North Texas for the first time in program history this weekend while the Gators will take on the Florida A&M Rattlers for the second time this season and for the 15
th time in program history.
Florida holds a 14-0 record over Florida A&M and took the last meeting in Gainesville 8-1 during the first game of the Aquafina Invitational. The Gators received a combined effort in the circle from sophomore
Kelly Barnhill (2-0) and freshman
Katie Chronister (1) to hold the Rattlers to a single run on five hits in the contest.
Barnhill tossed four-complete innings and allowed only three hits and walk compared to 11 total strikeouts. Chronister relieved her before the start of the fifth inning, which allowed her to receive the save for three quality innings of work.
Last Time Out
The Gators come into this weekend's series of games after the team dropped a 3-1 decision in an11 inning thriller against rival Florida State in Tallahassee. Barnhill hurled a Florida program record 21 strikeouts over 10.1 innings in what was her first loss of the season.
