OKLAHOMA CITY – The second-seeded Florida softball team is set to take on No. 7-seed and Southeastern Conference foe Georgia Thursday, May 31, at 7 p.m. (ET) in its first game of the Women's College World Series (WCWS).

The Gators (55-9) advanced the WCWS after winning three-straight during the NCAA Gainesville Regional with decisions over Bethune-Cookman and Ohio State twice. UF advanced the its ninth overall WCWS after taking a thrilling three-game series against No. 15-seed Texas A&M.

  • UF leads the nation with 348 walks on the season and is just two away from breaking the current NCAA single-season record, which Auburn set in 2016 with 349.
  • Amanda Lorenz is hitting .615 (8-for-13) in NCAA postseason play with six RBI, six runs scored, 12 walks and 1.000 slugging percentage.
  • Georgia took the regular season series earlier this year, 2-1, in Athens, Ga.
