No. 6 Gators Trounce Bears

 
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – No. 6 Florida defeated Mercer, 9-3, on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.
 
The Gators (27-6) wrapped up the quick two-game set with the Bears (13-20), a series that included 19 runs on 19 hits between the two games from Florida, with a big win thanks to another strong day at the plate.
 
Offensively, Hannah Adams led the way for the Gators going 3-for-4 with three runs scored, while Jade Caraway (2-for-4) and Kendyl Lindaman (2-for-3) had two hits apiece. Lindaman hit pair of home runs in the contest and has now hit eight home runs in her last eight games.
 
Danielle Romanello (1-for-2) and Jordan Roberts (1-for-2) slugged a pair of home runs to help out a powerful offensive attack for the Gators today.
 
Elizabeth Hightower and Natalie Lugo (7-3) combined for a strong 7.0 innings in the circle today. Hightower, who got the start, threw a strong 3.0 innings allowing one hit, one walk and no runs while striking out three.
 
Lugo relieved Hightower for 4.0 innings and recorded eight strikeouts and allowed only two walks and four hits en route to securing the win for herself and the Gators.

The Bears tacked on another run in the fifth inning thanks to an Allie Jones single up the middle, which allowed Micayla Rood to score.

Lorenz got ahold of her second SAC fly of the game to left field to allow Adams to score for the Gators' eighth run of the day.
