No. 10 Gators Travel for Midweek Top 10 Showdown with No. 3 Seminoles

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No.10 Florida softball team is set to travel and take on No. 3 Florida State at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, at JoAnne Graf Field. The game is set to be aired on ESPNU with Eric Frede and Amanda Scarborough on the call.

The Gators (38-13) enter the midweek contest after it concluded Southeastern Conference play with a series victory at LSU. The series marks the 10th consecutive SEC road series victory for the Orange & Blue, which dates back to the 2019 season.

The Seminoles (45-5) boast 16 wins against RPI top-25 teams and are 29-0 against non-conference opponents this season. At the plate, FSU is led by Mack Leonard's .366 (52-of-142) batting average and is accompanied by four others who hold batting averages of above .300.

In the circle, they are anchored by Kathryn Sandercock (1.49 ERA) and Danielle Watson (1.98 ERA) as each have registered over 100 innings pitched on the year.

For Florida, redshirt-junior Skylar Wallace is the leader at the plate with a .397 (54-of-136) batting average and 42 stolen bases. She is joined by Kendra Falby (.380), Cheyenne Lindsey (.340) and Katie Kistler (.336).

The Gators pitching staff is led by Elizabeth Hightower (12-6) who is accumulated 128 innings of work, while Lexie Delbrey (12-2) clocks in with 86 1/3 innings pitched.

Tonight's contest will be the second game of the series between the two programs this season as Florida State took the first meeting 4-2 (10) in an extra-inning thriller at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium in Gainesville.
