
Gators Split Sunday Matches 1-1 against No. 7 Mississippi State and North Florida

The Gators began with a loss to Mississippi State, but finished the day with a win over the North Florida Ospreys.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gators leave the three-match weekend with a 2-1 record. Their two wins came against No. 23 Ole Miss on Friday, March 13 and North Florida in the second match of Sunday's doubleheader. The Gators' one loss on the weekend came from a hard-fought match against No. 7 Mississippi State.
The Gators won the doubles point in both matches on Sunday. The duo of Henry Jefferson and Jeremy Jin and the pairing of Kevin Edengren and Andreas Timini both won their doubles matchups, with their wins over Mississippi State's doubles pairings both being ranked wins. Edengren/Timini won 6-4 over No. 38 Bryan Hernandez Cortes/Roberto Ferrer Guimaraes and Jefferson/Jin clinched the point with a 7-5 victory over No. 72 Mario Martinez Serrano/Michal Novansky.
In singles, Lorenzo Claverie led the team with two dominant wins on Sunday over No. 39 Mario Martinez Serrano (MSU) and Youssef Labbene (UNF). The Gators came close to a win over Mississippi State with a win from Kevin Edengren on court three adding to the doubles point and the win from Claverie's court, but ultimately feel short 4-3 against the Bulldogs.
However, against the Ospreys, the Gators were up on almost every court. Timini and Pablo Perez Ramos both put the Gators up 3-0 on courts three and five, with Claverie clinching the final point for the Gators on court two, finishing 4-0.

The Gators are back on the road next weekend, travelling to Alabama and Tennessee. Alabama is ranked at No. 50 and Tennesse is ranked at No. 59 by the ITA.
