Florida takes the 4-2 win over Alabama, improving to 47-22 over the Crimson Tide and are now 10-9 on the season.
Tuscaloosa, Ala. – The Florida Men's Tennis team gets the win over No. 41 Alabama in their first road match since February. The Gators took a 4-2 victory over the Crimson Tide to put them at 4-3 on the road.
The Gators continued their doubles hot streak, taking the point in their last four matches. Kevin Edengren and Andreas Timini started the Gators off with a quick 6-1 win over Rohan Hazratwala and Brendan Loh (Alabama) at court three. This win marked the duo's sixth straight win and improved their record to 11-3 in the dual season. The pairing of Vit Kalina and Andrii Zimnokh of Alabama defeated the Gators' Henry Jefferson and Tanapatt Nirundorn on court one, making court two the deciding match for the doubles point. Pablo Perez Ramos and Adhithya Ganesan were up 4-0 in the set before Alabama's Jacob Olar and Matic Kriznik fought back to eventually making it a close 7-5 win for the Gators to secure the point.
In singles, Ganesan was forced to retire against Vit Kalina on court one making it a 1-1, but a quick 6-4, 6-1 victory from Ramos on court four put the Gators back on top. Lorenzo Claverie put the Gators in clinch position after a 6-4, 6-3 win over No. 109 Andrii Zimnokh. Jefferson narrowly avoided defeat to the Crimson Tide's Matik Kriznik, with Jeremy Jin clinching the victory for the Gators on court five. Jin's 6-4, 6-4 win over Rohan Hazratwala marked his first clinch of the dual season, taking the 4-2 victory.
