Alex Watkins

Alex Watkins enters his fourth season with the Gators as a strength and conditioning assistant ahead of the 2022 season.

Watkins spent two prior seasons (2020-21) at Mississippi State as a strength and conditioning coach after serving as the assistant director of athletic performance for football at UAB in 2019. Watkins was the head of strength and conditioning for football at Texas Southern from 2016-18 and the head of the department for Stillman College from 2014-16.

Watkins played defensive line for the University of Alabama from 2007-11 and was part of two National Championship teams in 2009 and 2011.

Following his collegiate career, he signed as a free agent with the Tennessee Titans in 2012 and also the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL) a year later.
